Environmental management of the RZB Group honoured

In record time of only eight months, the company group Rudolf Zimmermann GmbH achieved validation in accordance with EMAS for no less than two companies, the Franconian RZB Rudolf Zimmermann, Bamberg GmbH and the Thuringian sister company SONLUX Lighting GmbH. Entry into the EMAS register was already made at the beginning of February via the IHK Nürnberg [Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce].

EMAS, also known as Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, is a voluntary environment management system of the European Union. It is aimed at organisations who wish to continuously improve their environmental performance and report about the environmental activities in a transparent way. The certificate states that an organisation has implemented an effective environment management system and regularly performs environmental audits. Compliance with the EMAS specifications is verified by authorised environmental auditors. These auditors are independent third parties, who ensure that the organisation meets the required standards. To receive the EMAS certificate, companies must meet certain requirements, amongst others creation of an environmental statement, outlining the environmental performance and the objectives of the organisation. EMAS is open to companies of all industries and sizes and additionally meets the requirements of the international ISO 14001 standard.

The award of the EMAS certificate represents an important milestone in the company's history. By implementing EMAS into the RZB Group, relevant environmental impacts can be recorded systematically, and environmental services can be continuously improved. This is achieved through compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and active integration of employees into the environmental protection process.

With the EMAS registration and commitment to environmentally conscious operations and sustainable development, RZB and SONLUX assume social responsibility. Added value: For customers and stakeholders of the company group, the transparent and legally compliant handling of environmental aspects such as energy consumption, waste and emissions means a strengthening of trust in the group, as well as a stronger market presence and innovative capacity. Validation in accordance with EMAS contributes to active climate protection, future-proof positioning and long-term partnerships, while at the same time meeting the legal obligations and minimising liability risks.
